Sony, Samsung, LG, and Toshiba all announced 3D-compatible HDTVs at this year's CES, but Panasonic has made the most noise about the technology. The company began touting an extra dimension at last year's CES, and this year it has finally announced a shipping date for its first 3D plasma TV. Dubbed the VT25 series, it's expected to be released in the spring. It will be among the first 3D-capable flat-panel HDTVs available for sale in the U.S.

The set will include one pair of 3D glasses--every other 3D set announced at the show, save Sony's XBR-LX900 series, lacks included glasses. Also, like all other makers, Panasonic will employ an active LC shutter system. The right and left lens in the glasses alternately darkens and lightens, too quickly to perceive, while the TV synchronously displays the corresponding right- and left-eye-specific images. The result is a stereoscopic 3D effect that, in the case of the VT25 mated to full-resolution 3D content, preserves all 1,920x1,080 (1080p) pixels for each eye--hence Panasonic's term "Full HD 3D."

1. CES，Consumer Electronics Show，消费电子展，每年一月份在米国拉斯维加斯召开
2. Panasonic，松下。该公司还有其他两个英文名字National, Matsushita。

俺问过松下的市场负责人，他们说以后主要用Panasonic这个名字。Panasonic是个合成词，“Pana-”表示“全”、“泛”、“总”的意思，如Pan Pacific是泛太平洋。“-sonic”意为声音。整个词表示所有的声音。

National是松下早期用的商标，记得80年代的松下电视上都写National，大概的意思是他们的产品代表日本民族吧。米国人也喜欢用这个词，如National Semiconductor、National Instruments等，其实都是民营公司，不代表政府。在咱国就不同了，“中”字头的公司不许民间注册。在米国没这个限制。跑题了

日文单词基本有三种：日本本地语言、汉语和外来语。本地语如巴嘎，马鹿（四不像）的意思，就是说你是个什么东西，什么都不像，似乎不是汉语。按理说不算很粗的话。Matsushita也属于这一类，但写出来是松下，发音是日本本土的，Matsu为松，shita为下。这种读法叫做训读。日本人的姓基本都是训读。

与训读相对的是音读，如Nippon（日本）、绮丽（非常美）等。

后来欧美发达了，日本人就用外来语，到处都是，听起来常常很滑稽，因为日本人的发音很成问题。如啤酒(beer)叫秘鲁（因为发不出r音）,电视（television）叫太累臂。

又跑题了。松下以后主要叫Panasonic。

两维看的时候，TC-PVT25系列跟平常的电视没啥区别。

这里有个词很有意思：average。如果直译过来肯定很别扭，但average这个词用得很普遍，比如average person，平常人，the average joe, 普通老百姓。

所以，average HDTV是普通高清电视的意思，不是平均电视

去年BIRTV（北京国际广播电影电视设备展览会）展会上，曾经看到TCL有一个3D电视的展示（不用戴眼镜），站在正前方看的时候，一堆铜钱从屏幕涌出，向观众迎面飞过来的感觉。当然，那是4个电视屏2*2的方式放着，不知道是不是4个一起工作的，但是记得当时4个放的内容是不同的。
