Position Overview
This position will report to VP of Strategy and Insights directly.
The candidate will play a key role in helping the management understanding the state of China business.
This individual has to lead a high-performing business insights team to drive business success as a thought partner and key consultant for management as well as other function teams.

Principal
Accountabilities
Business Planning, Analysis & Communication
·
Monitor and provide recommendations for menu pricing

·
Perform business analysis to provide insights and foresights for actionable business plans. This includes (not limited to) the following:

-
Conduct regular business/sales analysis and sales forecasts on overall business as well as particular initiatives to understand growth drivers

-
Understand the overall China business challenges and opportunities such as economic environment, consumer behavior, pricing, competition, market trends and other strategic issues at national and regional levels

-
Conduct promotion analysis to optimize marketing initiatives/tactics

·
Provide effective decision support through fact based information by monitoring and analyzing internal/external data

·
Provide quality presentation through effective storytelling communication to the management and function teams


Engagement and Function Support
·
Engage and partner with management and function teams to provide guidance in evaluation business initiatives and performance

·
Facilitate discussions in critical business development and reviews meetings with key stakeholders in the form of workshop.

·
Collaborate with relevant regional and global teams in leveraging and implementing best practices in the system



Leadership
·
Lead a high-performing business insights team and develop talents within the business insights team

·
Influence management and other function teams’ decision and action plan through business analysis results




Eligibility – Experience and Skills
Work Experience
·
At least 10 year experience

·
5+ years of experience in deriving implications, strategy and business actions through business analysis

·
2+ years of experience in leading/consulting with cross-functional teams, and influencing decisions through the use of information

·
Preferable with China experience and understanding of quick service restaurants business


Skills
·
Proficient in both Mandarin and English in written and oral

·
Prioritizes analyses through hypothesis-building and identifies key issues

·
Uses concise and effective written and verbal communication, with ability to constructs logical storylines

·
Translates output of analyses into practical and implementable recommendations

·
Acts independently and takes on challenges willingly

·
Excellent project, time and people management as well as organization skills

Proven track records to be a good team player who is willing to step up and help people as well as enjoy team environment

The Opportunity:

The Marketing Director will be responsible for leading Ushi’s marketing efforts and the growth of its member base, including crafting the Ushi brand into a brand prominently in the minds of China’s white collar professionals and entrepreneurs. This professional is vital to the overall Ushi growth strategy and is a key member of the Company’s executive team. This includes further hiring, developing, and managing the Ushi marketing team, and establishing the team’s competency.

The Marketing Director will be responsible for the following four key areas:
1. Leadership of Ushi marketing team
2. Public Relations: public relations is a very major part of the marketing strategy and brand
strategy, as it helps to drive viral marketing. The Marketing Director will be the leader in
developing ‘buzz’ about Ushi in the market … generating constant public relations content (at least one media article per week), social media marketing, maintaining PR blog and company website, strategic partnerships with key media / schools / companies and organizations, and brand-building offline events.
3. Brand development: strategy and active development of a strong brand. Hands-on
craftsmanship in finely tuning the details of all communications, copywriting and all
messaging.
4. Viral marketing: implement marketing tactics and strategies to increase the viral growth of
the existing member base. Draw conclusions from data to optimize viral growth.

The Marketing Director will provide major input to these key areas:
1. Overall business strategy
2. User Experience (look & feel, navigation, feature / functionality set, CRM, payment methods, content strategy) and Product Development is a very major part of the marketing team, since Ushi’s main growth channel is viral marketing (i.e. Ushi members invite their contacts to join Ushi)
3. In future, Direct Marketing: (a) creative, (b) media. This includes growing and maximizing
over time a widening array of marketing channels. Ushi is very focused on maximizing the
ROI resulting from acquiring new Paid Members.
4. The Marketing Director will also play a key role within the team tasked to develop the
marketing-support infrastructure including the MIS (Management Information System) of the
company. The Company wishes to develop the tools that will best support the Marketing
Director in delivering his / her cost of member acquisition accountabilities.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Proven experience in implementing successful brand-building and public relations operations
in China market. Preferred candidate will have client-side brand management / brand
planning experience. We can entrust you with the Ushi brand.
• Proven leadership, strategic, and management skills.
• Extroverted, enjoys public speaking in Chinese and networking.
• Must be bottom-line driven, pragmatic, objective and detailed in ensuring thorough
implementation, with the capacity to work within a changing business environment under
pressure.
• Able to work with different disciplines (creative, technology, and business).
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the consumer Internet market in China, from
both a consumer / usage and trade / commercial view, and have an understanding of the
industry structure and its dynamics. Ideally including distribution partnerships. (Preferable,
not must)
• Prior experience includes extensive and successful hands-on experience with direct
marketing-oriented Internet marketing projects and roles, including social networking, affiliate
marketing, search engine marketing, and other forms of performance-based marketing.
• Entrepreneurial and excited about working in a fast-paced, rapid-growth, dynamic work
environment.

Job Requirements:
• fluent Chinese language ability and strong English language ability is required
• aged 28-35; minimum 5 years of work experience in marketing / communications, preferably
client-side brand management and public relations
• smooth, polished public speaker
• extensive personal contacts within the Chinese media / PR industry
• extremely detail oriented
• minimum Bachelors degree
• experience in the consumer Internet sector is preferred but not required
